Our Beliefs

Christ Presbyterian Church is a Reformed Presbyterian church. We are a church seeking to minister the presence of Jesus Christ to each other and our community through our worship, our fellowship, and our lives.

What does 'Reformed' Mean?

By "Reformed" we mean that we embrace the fundamental teachings of the Protestant Reformation: Christ alone, faith alone, and Scripture alone. This means we believe that salvation can only be found in Christ, can only be received by faith, and is only revealed in the Bible. We joyfully believe and embrace biblical and historic Christianity communicated in the Old and New Testaments.

Our Denomination

We are Presbyterian. We believe God appoints elders to shepherd the Church. Christ Presbyterian Church is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), to which we hold ourselves accountable. Within the PCA denomination, we belong to the Southern New England Presbytery.

Our denomination confesses the particular expression of Christian doctrine found in the Westminster Confession of Faith.

You don't have to be Reformed or a Presbyterian to join us at Christ Presbyterian Church. We celebrate the many diverse and faithful denominations within Christ's body.

Church

We believe that local, Christ-centered and biblically faithful churches are the very epicenter of Christ’s saving presence on earth “against which even the gates of hell cannot prevail”!  More than a source of mission, the church is the core of mission—offering the very life-giving presence of Christ, our Mediator. And this impacts everything about the way we think of “church.”
